Peter Gene Hernandez, better known as Bruno Mars was born October 8,1985. Peter is and american singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Peter began performing at a very young age. He started doing Elvis Presley impersonations at the age of 3! He was known as the worlds youngest Elvis impersonator. Bruno is Puerto Rico and Filipino decent. at the age of two, Bruno was nicknamed Bruno because of the legendary wrestler Bruno Sammartino, "Mars just came joking around in the studio saying that he was "out of this world" Bruno was one of six children, Eric, Jaime, Tiara, Tahiti, and Presley. Bruno also performed songs by artists like Michael Jackson, The Isley Brothers, and the temptations. When Bruno was 4 years old, he started playing with his family band "The love notes" Then Bruno started to learn how to play instruments, he had inspiration, "Growing up in Hawaii made me the man i am"
after graduating high school Bruno moved to Los Angeles to make something much bigger out of his musical career, after seven years in Los Angeles, nothing, Bruno kept on trying until he meet Philip Lawrence, which now a a days is his best friend, his brother in crime, and is like part of the family. The were making huge hits witch led them to "The Smeezingtons" In 2006, Philip introduce Bruno to his new manager at Atlantic Records It took three years more to get Bruno high, in the mean while he wrote songs for very famous artists like Alexandra Burke, Travie McCoy, Adam Levine, Brandy, Sean Kingston, and Flo Rida.
Bruno finally reached the 99th position with "The other Side" featuring Cee lo green and B.o.B. Then reached the top ten with the hit song "Billionare" by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars.
2010-2013
In 2010 Bruno released his first debut album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" on October 4th, 2010. The hot single of "Just the way you are" reached the top of billboard hot 100, as well as other charts. His second single, "Grenade" was also very successful in the international charts. Doo-Wops & Hooligans was on third place also on billboard's top 200 for the week of October 3, 2010 selling over 55,000 copies. On February 13, 2011, Mars won his first Grammy Award for best male pop vocal performance, having received six nominations; Best Rap song and Best Rap / song collaboration for "Nothin' on You", Record of the year for "Nothin' on You" and "F*ck You", Song of the year for "F*ck You", and Producer of the year Non-Classical at the 53rd Grammy awards. Bruno announced his first world tour "Hooligans in wonderland Tour" in 2010.
Two years later Bruno released his second album, "Unorthodox Jukebox" on December 12, 2012. The two lead songs on this album is "Locked out of Heaven" and "When I was your man" this album got to number two on billboard top 200 with sales of over 187,000 copies. Bruno also announced his second world tour "The Moonshine Jungle Tour 2013" hitting this summer all over America and the UK.
